What Is the Slate Maker?
Slate Maker is Slate Auto’s brand-new online design hub where you can explore every aspect of Slate Truck customization. From sleek Fastback SUV Kits to bold wrap colors and off-road wheels, this is where your ideas come to life—digitally, at least for now. The goal? To let you create your dream Slate long before production begins.
Even though the first trucks won’t roll off the assembly line until 2027, Slate is already letting future owners get involved. As the tagline says: Make. Save. Share. Repeat. Build it now, tweak it later, and save your perfect configuration for when orders open.

How Does Slate Maker Work?
It’s simple:
- Make – Start with a base Slate Truck and add your favorite options. Choose from wrap kits, wheel sizes, accessories, and even SUV conversions.
- Save – Keep your build on file so it’s ready to order when production starts.
- Share – Show off your creation to friends, family, and even your favorite Slack channel.
- Repeat – Keep tweaking your build until it’s exactly what you want.
This approach isn’t just fun; it’s a way for Slate to gather community feedback and refine options ahead of launch.

Why Start Now?
The Slate Truck’s expected starting price of around $20,000 (after incentives) makes it one of the most affordable EV trucks on the horizon. But more than just a price point, Slate is building a community of drivers who value creativity and personalization. By getting involved early, you’re helping shape the future of EVs—one build at a time.
Plus, early adopters can compare notes and share ideas on mods, wraps, and accessories that might become part of the official build sheet. Think of it as the world’s biggest design studio, open to anyone with a passion for trucks and innovation.
