Report: Electric pickup truck plant coming to Warsaw along with 2,000 jobs
The first vehicles are expected to be produced in Warsaw next year.

WARSAW, Ind. (WNDU) – A former printing plant in Warsaw will reportedly be the future home of a production site for electric pickup trucks.
Slate Auto, a Michigan-based and Jeff Bezos-backed EV startup, confirmed with Business Insider that its $25,000 electric pickup will be assembled at the former LSC Communications plant off W. Old Road 30.
The factory is expected to bring around 2,000 jobs back to Warsaw after more than 500 workers were impacted by the LSC plant’s closure back in 2023.
According to Business Insider, the Slate Truck, which comes standard with 150 miles of range and a starting price of about $25,000, is expected to be the cheapest new electric vehicle and pickup truck in the U.S. It could cost less than $20,000 after federal EV tax credits.
